The Obession continues...

Wednesday - Today at Hailey's school was, "dress as your favorite character in a book" day. Naturally, she picked "The Cat in the Hat" because (like I said) she LOVES anything by Dr. Seuss. She looked so cute!

My class celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. Aren't they so flippin' cute?

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
1904-1991

Okay, so before you think I am a total freak,
I have to tell you WHY I love Dr. Seuss so much.

1. My Grandma and Great-Grandma always read me his books. His books remind me of them, as well as my happy childhood.

2. On my graduation day, my mom gave me the book, "Oh, the places you'll go!" I still have it and read it to my own daughters.

3. When I was pregnant with Hailey, my twins, and Tayler, I read "Oh, Baby, the places you'll go!" to them in Utero (while pregnant.) They say that babies can hear their mothers voice, and that is proven that while reading this book (or any rhyming book for that matter) the baby's heartrate goes up, they move like crazy, and are comforted. So, being the first time mother that I was (with Hailey) I fell for it and bought the book. Ok, let me tell you that it really does work! At first I laughed outloud when I was alone reading these silly rhymes...but all the sudden Hailey went NUTS kicking, flipping, turning all around in my tummy. I really bonded with all my babies during "story time in utero!" :) I don't have too many memories with my twins...so thank you Dr. Seuss, because of your amazing talents, all my babies and I created memories because of you!

4. To this day, my girls LOVE reading Dr. Seuss books. I can pass on my happy childhood memories with them, and create new ones with my children and (one day) with my grandchildren.

My favorite Dr. Seuss quotes:

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own.And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go." -Dr. Seuss
-------------------------------------------
“I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat.
I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!”
- Dr. Seuss
------------------------------------------
"Sometimes the questions are complicated
and the answers are simple."
-Dr. Seuss
-----------------------------------------
"Don't cry because it's over.
Smile because it happened."
-Dr. Seuss

Amazing Pictures!

Last Saturday we spent the afternoon with an amazing and very talented photographer, Jen Herem (Lex's little sis) at Wheeler Farm. I wanted something "rustic and anything but studio" and this is what she came up with. I loved it!
Her contact info is:

Jackson Hole ... and a Broken Toe!

Our Hotel

The World Famous, "Million Dollar Cowboy Bar"

Rick and I went to Jackson Hole this past weekend to celebrate our 9th anniversary. (No Kids Allowed!!!) We had so much fun! We went shopping, to the elk refuge, soaked in the hot hot tub, we saw "He's just not that into you," we ate a yummy steak dinner at the Gun Barrel, and we went dancing at 'The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.' There was a really fun country band that played all weekend. (When we were dating we loved to go dancing, we used to swing dance and had so much fun together.) We haven't done that in years, but we caught up real fast in Jackson Hole! We danced and danced and danced! Well, I guess we danced a little too much...my shoes were killing me, so I took them off towards the end of the night. Rick wanted to swing one more time, so I did it without shoes on. Well, that was NOT the best idea. Rick stepped on my pinky toe! It hurt SO bad! We laughed, not thinking it was too bad...
Sunday morning I woke up and this is what it looked like....
OUCH!

Good thing I married Rick for his good heart, not his dancing skills! :)
We had so much fun! I love him more and more every day!
I came home and had an x-ray...yep it's broke!
Oh, well! It was all worth it!
Maybe next year we will just go back to the hotel after dinner... ha ha ha!

Happy 9 Year Anniversary Babes!

February 5, 2000: My cute husband, Rick and I were married 9 years ago today. Holy cow! Nine years flew by so fast! I love this man more than life itself. We are more in love now, than we were 9 years ago! He is the sweetest, kindest, most sincere and loving husband and father. He is the hardest worker...which is a good and bad thing! I love you so much "babes." Happy Anniversary!

February 5, 2002: Ricky and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple!

Oh, and to go WAY back...

February 5, 1998: Our very first date in high school! We pretty much dated the majority of High School. One week later was Valentine's Day and I got a HUGE bouquet of beautiful red roses and heart balloons delievered to school. Man, he knows the way to my heart! :)

Rick would forget his head if it wasn't screwed on...so now it will make sense to you why he only has to remember ONE IMPORTANT DAY, rather than 3! Ha ha ha!

(Sorry, I have no wedding pics on this computer...just random ones of us!)

I Have Bragging Rights....

I have to brag about my Hailey. Today we went to her SEP's (parent/teacher conference) at school. Her teacher went over Hailey's test scores that every student is
personally tested on (reading /spelling/penmanship/math/etc.) So the "average" test score for her age group is 25 points. My girl got 63 points! Yay! Looks like she is taking after her mom! (I am laughing outloud, hopefully you are too if you know me and my I.Q score!) I'd like to thank "Mi Sanderson" (inside joke for you who know me well) for teaching me all I know! In all seriousness...I am so proud of Hailey! She loves to learn, loves to read, she is the sweetest, kindest, most content and easy-going kid on the face of this earth. I am so so blessed to have her. She is the best big sis to Tay-Tay and is the best helper EVER! I love her so much. She is my angel and I am so proud to be her Mom!

"It's About Time?" Right????

Well...here goes nothing!
I have wanted to do this for a long time, but haven't had two seconds to do anything "optional" these days! I have enjoyed reading many friends and family's blogs for a while, but haven't been able to create my own. I hope to keep in touch with old friends from school!
It's so fun to see everybody's cute families.
WHEN DID WE GET SO OLD!?!?
